Sound Editing Update: Behind the Scenes

Today, we started editing the sound for our film, carefully balancing diegetic and non-diegetic elements to enhance the storytelling.

Editing Software Used:

We use Adobe Audition to clean up audio, adjust levels, and mix in sound effects and music.

Who Did What?

•    chrusleah focused on cleaning up dialogue, removing background noise, and syncing audio with video.

•    Janai and audriana worked on layering and adjusting sound effects for a more immersive atmosphere.

•    kennise selected and integrated music from the provided copyright-free tracks.

Sound Design Choices:

•    Diegetic Sound: We enhanced footsteps, rustling leaves, and distant city noise to maintain realism in the park scene.

•    Non-Diegetic Sound: We added a soft, eerie score during the later scenes to build suspense.

•    Music Selection: We chose vampire Drac because its tone transitions from warm and peaceful to tense, matching the mood shift in the story

A wooden bench sits near a still lake, surrounded by tall oak trees swaying gently in the wind. Scene 1: The Meeting (A golden glow from the sunset reflects off the water. LILA, a young woman in her mid-20s, sits on a worn wooden bench, flipping through a well-loved book. ETHAN, about the same age, approaches with a hesitant but charming smile, holding two cups of coffee.) Ethan: (clears his throat, shifting on his feet) Hey. Sorry to bug you, but… is that The Wanderer’s Tale? Lila: (looks up, surprised) Yeah. You know it? Ethan: (grinning) Know it? I’ve read it three times. It’s a masterpiece. Lila: (raises an eyebrow, intrigued) Most people haven’t even heard of it. Ethan: Well, most people are missi...
