Representation

Our film represents young adults, focusing on Lila and Ethan as intellectual and curious individuals. Lila is portrayed as independent and observant, while Ethan appears charming but hides a mysterious side. We use counter-stereotypes, making Lila confident rather than shy and Ethan more complex than the typical love interest. The film challenges representation by blending romance and horror, shifting viewpoints from warmth to suspense. To improve character depth, we may enhance Lila’s reactions, ensuring she is proactive rather than just fearful, making both leads feel more dynamic and real.

Costuming

Lila wears a cozy sweater in warm colors, a flowy skirt or jeans, and soft, worn boots. Her hair is wavy and natural, and she carries a tote bag with her favorite book. She looks friendly and kind. Ethan wears a dark jacket, a simple t-shirt, and jeans, making him look cool but a little mysterious. His hair is a bit messy, and he seems easy to talk to. But later, something changes—his skin looks pale, his eyes turn black, and he seems scary. Their clothes help show how the story goes from warm and happy to dark and spooky.

Movie Opener and brainstorm research

1.The observations we made for the first clip was that many different camera shots and angles were used to show the boy's actions. We also observed the use of diegetic sound as the music that was playing in his headphones was the same music we could hear. And finally we observed the change of setting which showed the change of time in the day. 2. The observations we made for the second clip were that voiceover was used which provided a quick exposition to the audience. We also observed that towards the end of the clip, the two main shots used in the clip were over the shoulder and two shot which showed the interactions between the two characters. 3. The observations we made for the third clip were that there was use of non diegetic sound which associated with being in a party type of mood while they were competing a dare. At the end of the clip there is a big turn of events when they stop the car they found from the dare and check the trunk which raises suspense. 4. ...
